    You must read AT LEAST the Introduction of this book.  It will be used throughout the year in American History and referenced in American Literature, so the more familiar you are with it, the more prepared you will be for the year.

    • Rise to Rebellion: A Novel of the American Revolution, Jeff Shaara
    • In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex, Nathaniel Philbrick
