About the Edward M. Kennedy Boston Collegiate Scholarship Fund
The Senator Edward M. Kennedy Boston Collegiate Scholarship Fund was launched in 2009 by Judith and Mark Siegel and is dedicated to the memory of Senator Kennedy to honor his lifelong commitment to equal opportunity and social justice with access for all who so aspire to the American dream of upward mobility through education. The Fund provides small grants to BCCS alumni and students to ensure that the opportunity of college is not impeded by financial disadvantage.
One hundred percent of donations to the Fund go directly to students to support their college persistence. Students apply for grants in amounts up to $750.00 which are reviewed and administered by the Collegiate Council. The Council also hosts an annual event to benefit the fund.
