Thank you for considering Boston Collegiate Charter School for your child’s education! Boston Collegiate is a tuition-free charter public school for students in grades 5 through 12. Students are admitted each year through random public lottery.

Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to prepare each student for college. 

LOTTERY AND ENROLLMENT

Registration for the 2027-2028 lottery will open in SchoolMint in early fall 2026. In the meantime, please find additional details about the lottery and enrollment below. You can also view our Enrollment Policy here.

Any student who will be entering grades 5 through 10 during the 2027-2028 school year and who resides in Massachusetts may enter the Boston Collegiate lottery.

  • Per Massachusetts law, priority is given to students who fall under two categories: (1) siblings of a current Boston Collegiate student and (2) City of Boston residents.
  • Those currently on our waitlist not admitted by February, 15, 2027, must register again for the 2027-2028 lottery to be considered for the upcoming school year.
  • We encourage students protected under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act to register for our lottery. This act ensures homeless children and youth have equal access to the same free and appropriate public education, including a public preschool education, as provided to other children and youths. Boston Collegiate will admit any homeless student who enrolls through the same processes as other students as described in our Enrollment Policy, even if they do not have documents typically required for enrollment.

Our 2027-2028 lottery will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2027, at 9:00 a.m. at our Lower School campus. It will be livestreamed on Boston Collegiate’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

We’d love to meet you in person to share more about our school! Please join us for an in-person information session including a tour of the school and the opportunity to speak with a school leader and student ambassador. Prospective students and their families (including young children) are welcome at all sessions.

FAQs

Absolutely not! The only criteria required for students to apply are to be residents of Massachusetts and to be entering grades 5-10.

If you applied, you would have a SchoolMint account. Try to login with your email there to find records of your applications. If you are not able to log in, or have trouble, feel free to reach out to us at any time to confirm your student’s application. We can be reached at familyengagement@bostoncollegiate.org. Furthermore, our team goes through several rounds of data cleaning to ensure each unique applicant is given the equal and random opportunity to attend our school. When in doubt, submit your application again and we will follow up with you if a duplicate exists.

Each year, our waitlist expires on February 15th for the current year.  We encourage all prospective students to reapply in October, as our waitlists do not rollover per Massachusetts state regulation.

Lower School

Grades 5 - 6

Our Lower School program centers on a rigorous curriculum combined with close, individualized instruction, fostering strong literacy and mathematical foundations while developing the essential study skills and habits crucial for long-term success.

Middle School

Grades 7 - 8

During their critical years in Middle School, students in our program learn to master the academic and social-emotional independence necessary to thrive in high school, preparing them for increased responsibility and leadership opportunities

High School

Grades 9 - 12

Our program delivers a college preparatory curriculum that demands critical thinking and independent scholarship. Beyond core academics, we provide comprehensive counseling and practical application that demystifies the college admissions process and exposes students to diverse college campuses and career pathways.
